Google’s New Android Developer Policies

We got it earlier that the Android apps will not be using SMS and Call Log permissions anymore except in a case that the "core functionality" of an app doesn't get affected. Now reportedly, Google has decided to change its app review process in order to cater developer complaints effectively.

As per Google, "we will soon be taking more time to review apps by developers that don't yet have a track record with us. This will allow us to do more thorough checks before approving apps to go live in the store and will help us make even fewer inaccurate decisions on developer accounts." Moreover, Android Q is likely to bring more updates whereas new developers may go through high scrutiny after submitting their apps.
